okay so i'm geting money to buy a pc for university in september...

i got enough money to get a pretty bad ass powerful pc

should i switch to mac?

has anyone gone from xp to mac?

is it a smooooth transition? worth it? will it take me long to learn the OS inside out?

tell me aaaaalll!

(ps. my course is multimedia based.. so i'm guessing mac would be great for that?)

I just recently bought a mac.

I can't figure out how to use it to save my life. And editing photos has become impossible.

But then again, I'm also technologically challenged. (:

I've heard that most people who make the switch really prefer the mac over the pc.

I use both, and have no problems just gotta get used to the mac shortcuts is the biggest thing I guess, I'd say get the mac, though you probably wont get as much bang for your buck...
yeah sweeet :D i think i wanna go for mac..

and very true about not getting as much for your money, but as robbyp just said to me.. it'll probably barely ever crash, probably won't get any viruses and they do sweet student discounts :D
For Photoshop and stuff, Mac forever.

For Words and other stuff, Window's a bit better. But I'd go for a Mac.

i can get windows on a mac though, right? with bootcamp or something like that? then i could use word and stuff :D?
hahahahaha:D i'm tempted to try the switch.. might be an expensive mistake though haha
I'd go for it.
And then you can use Aperture. (I think it is only compatible with mac's..?)

buut does aperture not suuck compared to CS3??
Since your course is multimedia based, I'd suggest a mac...

I used to have xp then upgraded to Vista till I realized that windows is full of shite and cost me over £700 to repair the many many holes it got...

So I got a MacBook and believe me, you'll fall in love with it

Good Luck!
ha, no clue.

I tried using aperture and had no idea what I was doing. I couldn't figure the darn program out to save my life.

I prefer Photoshop Elements 6.0
